Changing The Logo

We provide you with the opportunity to modify our templates to match your store design with just a few simple changes. We have written this guide in hopes that it will help you understand the flexibility of our cs-cart templates and show you how easy it really can be.

The Misconception
" I can't use that template because it doesn't have my logo or store name in it. "

The Truth
With every cs-cart skin that we sell on this site, we provide the logo header design files for you to manipulate and change to suite your needs. This way, you can customize your own shop however you like! Advanced users can change colors and other graphics if desired.

Here is one way to change the logo header to work with your store:

1. Within the download file, you will find a folder call "Design Files". Open that folder and you will then see a file called logo.psd. ( *For ease of use, we provide a .png file as well as a .psd file). The psd file will be used to modify the logo or header of the cs-cart template.

2. Open the psd file in your favorite image editor that supports psd file formats. We use Adobe Photoshop but if you do not have this software, try GIMP which is free software that is comparable to Photoshop.

3. Now that you have the logo.psd file opened in your image editor, you will see a window with numerous layers in it. Each of these layers represent parts of the logo file that are positioned around the area to form the entire logo image.

4. Lets start changing things around. For this example, we used the logo file from our Fun House template and we would like to put in a different store name as well as add a fish image to. Click on the layer that you would like to change.

5. We will now add in our store name. Choose the text tool and click on the text, the type out your store name. You can also paste in your logo if needed after deleting this layer.

6. Once you are satisfied with the looks of your new logo, you will need to save/export it in the same format that is used on the live template. In our case, the file is called logo.png.

7. Upload the newly created file in the SKIN_NAME>customer>images location. For best practices, you should rename the original file to have a back up just in case.

8. Click over to your live site with the newly installed template and hit refresh. You should now see your new logo!
